THORChain has reopened some of its swaps — but three major chains remain locked.

Fact: On Nov. 4 at around 02:01 UTC, THORChain announced that swaps had resumed on 11 chains following the v3.21.1 node update: AVAX, BASE, BCH, BTC, DOGE, ETH, LTC, RUNE, TRON, XRPL, and ZEC. Still suspended with no return date: ATOM, BSC, and SOL. The pause began on Oct. 31, when an Ethereum reorganization caused a 10 ETH refund to be paid twice. At the time of the announcement, 14 active nodes had not yet installed v3.21.1, and THORChain said all nodes needed to update for swap performance to recover.

My take: this is a gradual recovery, not the finish line. BTC had already recovered by the afternoon of Nov. 3 UTC, followed by ETH and TRON — so the Nov. 4 announcement was more of a confirmation than a simultaneous reopening. SOL is the biggest question mark: its swaps had been experiencing technical issues even before the reorg, and its route also drew attention because of the flow of funds stolen from Binance. Until SOL, BSC, and ATOM are back, I think it’s too soon to claim that “THORChain is back to normal.”

What I’m watching: all nodes completing the update, return dates for SOL/BSC/ATOM, and whether swap volume returns to normal or users have already moved to other routes.

Do you think a partial pause like this is enough to restore confidence in THORChain, or will users keep switching to other routes?

This is my analysis, not financial advice — always DYOR.
