Bitcoin recouped its losses after a hack at Binance, rising 3.5% to $80,500 on Wednesday afternoon, following the conclusion of the U.S. midterm elections on Tuesday. Democrats won back both chambers of Congress. Ether rose nearly 6% to $2,433, while shares of Strategy and Coinbase each gained about 6%. Nexo analysts said futures data suggests traders are adjusting existing positions rather than adding leverage. Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, said the market’s limited reaction to the hack reflects a more mature crypto industry and stronger security infrastructure.
