Bitcoin’s “fork fiasco” is over: 8 nodes vs. 18,870 nodes 🤯
BIP-110 (a temporary soft fork to limit non-financial data on-chain) is completely dead:
📉 Activation required signals from 55% of miners; it got just 2.53%
⛓️ The minority chain that forked off on August 8 fell behind after mining just 2 blocks
🖥️ Data from bitdis.org on November 3: of 18,870 visible nodes, only 8 were running BIP-110 (about 0.04%)
⛏️ The current difficulty period has 649 blocks; there are 0 BIP-110 signaling blocks

Blockstream CEO Adam Back piled on via Twitter: “If you try to impose your views on Bitcoin, the market will reject them.” He said BIP-110 “failed miserably at the first hurdle.”
My take:
✅ This is good for $BTC —consensus rules not being rewritten by a small minority is what gives “immutability” its strength
✅ The debate over inscriptions/data won’t disappear, but the market has voted on resolving it through a hard fork
⚠️ For holders: the risk of a fork is basically off the table, so there’s no need to entertain idle fantasies about a “fork coin” airdrop
By the way, governance for $ETH and $BNB takes a different path, each with its own trade-offs.
Which side are you on: A. Restrict on-chain data B. Keep things as they are? Let’s discuss in the comments 👇
