A fintech company founded just around a decade ago is now valued at $115 billion.

On November 4, European fintech company Revolut completed a new funding round, reaching a valuation of $115 billion—more than Barclays in the UK and Société Générale in France.

The company initially attracted users with low-cost foreign exchange services. Today, its business has expanded to include bank accounts, payments, investments, and cross-border financial services.

Interestingly, Revolut’s pre-tax profit in 2025 was about $2.2 billion, while Barclays’ pre-tax profit over the same period was roughly four times higher.

Yet capital markets are still willing to give Revolut a higher valuation.

That’s because investors are looking not only at current profits, but also at its potential for global expansion.

Traditional banks have huge balance sheets and well-established customer relationships. Revolut, by contrast, is trying to meet most of its users’ financial needs through a single app.

However, the $115 billion figure is a private funding valuation. Whether it will be accepted by public markets remains to be seen.
