Lindsay Fraser of the Blockchain Association believes the next Congress must establish durable rules for digital assets that protect consumers while supporting American innovation. Democrats are expected to win control of both chambers of Congress. Fraser believes that a Republican administration and legislative hurdles in the Senate make bipartisan cooperation essential. She listed market structure legislation, protections for open-source developers, and workable tax rules as priorities. The Blockchain Association, which represents more than 100 U.S.-based cryptocurrency organizations, pledged to continue working with lawmakers from both parties and federal regulators.
