$BTC 🚨BTC fell from 87k and bounced back to 78k today—this isn’t a bottom, it’s a continuation move
What to do:
✅ Wait for a bounce to 80.5–82k to enter short, stop-loss at 83.8k, targets at 75.6→73→70k
❌ Don’t buy the dip: it took just two weeks to plunge from 87.4k to 75.6k. A +2% bounce changes nothing
❌ Don’t chase shorts: it just bounced off the bottom—let the rebound play out first
Why am I comfortable shorting? Three signals are right there on the chart:
1️⃣ It fell from 87.4k to 75.6k, down 13.5% with no meaningful resistance. For BTC to fall this much, it suggests institutions are rebalancing—not retail investors dumping. No one is rushing to buy the coins being sold
2️⃣ Open interest is only 98.7K, which is low. Positions didn’t build during the bounce, suggesting this +2% move came from shorts closing, not real money flowing into longs
3️⃣ OBV is tracking below its moving average: there’s no sign of money flowing back in. Price bounced, but volume doesn’t support it—a classic technical rebound
Here’s what happens next:
Downtrend → technical rebound → bounce back to the previous breakdown level → resume falling. 80.5–82k is a dense zone where price was previously dumped, and the breakdown point in this decline. It’s full of trapped holders waiting to sell at breakeven and capitulators looking to exit. Price will hit a wall there.
Discipline:
• Short again at 80.5–82k. The entry is too poor right now, and a rebound could easily stop you out first
• Admit you’re wrong if it breaks above 83.8k—if price holds there, it means this pullback is over and BTC is back in a strong zone
• BTC is relatively less volatile, so you can use a normal position size, but always use a stop-loss
In short: The big guy took a tumble. Getting back up and brushing off the dust doesn’t mean everything’s fine. Have your shorts ready for a bounce to 80.5–82k. The trend hasn’t finished breaking down, but it hasn’t recovered either.
(Personal opinion, not financial advice. Manage your position size.)
