CryptoQuant Analyst: Bitcoin Seller “Exhaustion” Signals Emerge, but Demand Gap Remains to Be Filled

Nov. 4 — According to a post by CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, Bitcoin’s “seller exhaustion” model currently shows that selling pressure is weakening, but this does not necessarily signal the start of a recovery.

The model works by comparing the share of the supply that is in profit with the average monthly volatility indicator to assess whether sellers still have enough incentive to keep pushing prices lower.

The indicator has now fallen to its lowest level since the bear market began. This is not surprising, as short-term profits appear to have been realized and Bitcoin’s price has also pulled back by more than 10% from its recent high.

Historically, easing selling pressure has often helped form market bottoms, but that does not mean prices will necessarily recover.

Even if sellers have been exhausted, a market rally still requires demand—and Bitcoin is currently lacking precisely that.
