U.S. stocks open 23 hours a day—will A-share investors be lured away?
U.S. stocks are about to enter the era of 23-hour daily trading. In April 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission formally approved Nasdaq’s trading-hours reform. Starting December 6, Nasdaq-listed securities will go from the existing premarket, regular-session, and after-hours trading schedule to 23 hours a day, five days a week. Trading will pause for just one hour, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, for back-office operations such as reconciliation, settlement, and processing dividends and stock splits.$SOL
