Binance hacker turns to THORChain to launder SOL into BTC
According to Lookonchain, the hacker behind the $6.3 billion Binance exploit is still converting stolen SOL into BTC.
The funds are moving as follows:
- Stolen SOL is split across multiple wallets
- SOL is sold for USDC
- USDC is bridged to Ethereum to buy ETH
- ETH is then swapped for BTC via THORChain
This is the latest step in the money-laundering chain following the hack, as the hacker keeps moving across multiple assets and chains to obscure the trail rather than holding onto a single type of stolen coin.
