According to an announcement published by OKXICE on November 2, SpaceX is one of 56 companies opposing the proposed listing of tokenized stocks. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) five-year innovation exemption gives issuers 30 days to object, effectively preventing the relevant tokens from trading on the platform. Tokens representing SpaceX shares have traded outside the United States, with Backpack and Kraken recording June on-chain trading volumes of $1.08 billion and $852 million, respectively. OKXICE will offer tokenized stock trading services to U.S. investors. OKXICE co-chair Andrew Cuomo said on October 30 that more companies would participate as the benefits of tokenization become more apparent.
