After Coinbase launched BMNR perpetual contracts, BMNR rose about 5.5% in the short term, while CRCL also gained about 6%. This is more than a simple token price move—it looks like the boundary between traditional stock trading and the crypto derivatives market is continuing to blur.

From Robinhood stock to Strategy-related assets, tokenized stocks are bringing traditional market assets, sentiment, and volatility into a 24/7 on-chain trading environment. With perpetual contracts now available, both bulls and bears can express their views more efficiently, so the surge in short-term trading volume is no surprise.

But behind the excitement, the risks are worth keeping in mind: tokenized stocks may face wide price spreads, liquidity gaps, opaque redemption mechanisms for underlying assets, and changes in regulatory treatment. A short-term rally could be driven by spot-market sentiment, but it may also involve a squeeze in the derivatives market.

Rather than chasing the rally, it is more worthwhile to first confirm what the product tracks and how its fees and liquidation rules work. Infrastructure is converging rapidly, but there is no need for risk appetite to accelerate along with it.
