I just saw Binance’s preliminary investigation report tonight. PANews, citing Reuters, and Rhythm BlockBeats have both covered the same story. Here are a few figures that stood out to me: the October 29 security incident involved approximately $6.34 billion in digital assets, of which about $2.85 billion has been frozen or intercepted so far. The platform will bear the losses itself, and as of October 31, 98% of the affected token assets had been replenished.

The report also explains how the attack got in: it started with fake job interviews, then used tampered Homebrew installation packages and internal AI tools to gradually gain access to wallet-signing permissions on multiple employees’ devices. Just hearing that gives me chills—it wasn’t a forced entry; they infiltrated from within.

The report also says this is only a “preliminary” investigation, and that external cybersecurity firms will be brought in to conduct a comprehensive review. So my takeaway is: some of the funds have been recovered and the attack method has been identified, but this isn’t over yet. Don’t assume it’s all behind us.

A quick look at the market: on the spot side, $BTC 24h -0.6%, $ETH is basically flat. The news hasn’t triggered any fresh volatility, and it seems like everyone is waiting for a more complete update.

Which step are you more concerned about: whether all the frozen funds can be recovered, or how to defend against this kind of “interview + software installation” scheme next time?
