He was reportedly born in either 1981 or 1984, is a North Korean national, and speaks Korean, English, and Chinese.
The U.S. Department of Justice named three items on his rap sheet:
① Hacking Sony Pictures in 2014
② Stealing $81 million from the Central Bank of Bangladesh in 2016
③ The “WannaCry” ransomware attack that crippled computers around the world in 2017
He is reportedly linked to a hacking group under North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau, and was formally indicted by the U.S. in 2018.
The FBI has even made his real name and photo public in its wanted notice, but his last known location is North Korea, so there’s basically no chance of bringing him in.
