Let’s do the math: Strategy has 848,000 BTC, bought for a total of $64 billion, which puts its average cost just over $75,000 per coin.

BTC is now at $79,800, less than 6% above its cost basis.

Seen in that light, it makes sense that this week they didn’t buy a single coin and instead used $200 million to buy back STRC. The more they buy at $80,000, the higher their cost basis climbs, and even a modest pullback in BTC could push the price below it.

That makes the $75,000 level a particularly firm floor for the market. With the cost basis of 840,000 coins sitting there, they’re hardly going to stand by if BTC falls to that level. They’d most likely be the first to rush in and buy.

In my view, this week’s pause has actually drawn a line in the sand below. Above $75,000, BTC can’t fall very far, even if it gets pushed down.
