#美国中期选举倒计时,美股博弈窗口已开启?

Voting takes place today in the U.S. midterm elections. All 435 seats in the House are up for election, along with 33 Senate seats and two special elections. Republicans currently hold the Senate by 53 to 47 and the House by 218 to 212. Democrats need to gain a net four Senate seats and three House seats to take control.

This is the first midterm election of Trump's second term. Markets are watching three levers: taxes, tariffs, and regulation.

The broad direction of tax policy is already written into law and cannot be changed by the midterms. Even if Democrats win both chambers, they are unlikely to overcome a presidential veto. What could really change is the 2027 budget and any new tax-cut proposals. A Republican sweep would raise the odds of additional tax cuts; a divided Congress would leave the current provisions as they are.

The president and the courts hold the tariff lever. If Democrats win the Senate, tariffs will not disappear overnight, but uncertainty will increase, putting pressure on importers and retailers first. If Republicans hold Congress, the tariff agenda will continue, benefiting domestic producers and small-cap stocks.

Regulation is the most direct area of impact. Legislation on crypto market structure is still advancing, while the stablecoin bill has already been enacted. If Republicans hold the Senate, the odds of the legislation passing are high; if Democrats take the Senate, it will likely be held up. For stocks, a divided Congress means less new regulation, which markets generally like.

For U.S. stocks, a divided Congress means earnings and liquidity will be in focus, with indices likely to fluctuate while trending upward. A Republican sweep would benefit small caps, energy, and financials, while putting pressure on import-dependent retailers. A Democratic sweep could trigger an initial valuation sell-off, but healthcare and clean energy may offer opportunities in select areas.

For crypto, the election will mainly affect regulation. BTC will still depend on the Fed and ETF flows, while altcoins will hinge on progress with the market structure bill. A divided Congress means the bill will continue to be delayed, leaving altcoins without a systemic catalyst.

Reduce leverage and keep cash on hand before the results come in; don't bet on any single outcome. Keep core holdings in BTC and stocks with stable cash flows, and avoid tariff-sensitive importers and retailers for now. Once the results are final, add positions according to the scenario. Don't chase rallies or sell off in panic on election night.
