Golden Pig’s take: $SNDKB shows us that the most profitable quarter for a cyclical stock is often not the time to get in.

SanDisk reported earnings on 10/29, with quarterly revenue of about $11 billion, up 378% year over year. The numbers were almost flawless.

But SNDKB on Binance Spot has fallen about 20% since the earnings announcement, and about 38% over the past 40 days.

My take: in a cyclical industry like storage, the market is trading on “how long can price increases last?”—not how much the company earned this quarter. When profits peak, people actually start looking for a turning point.

So I wouldn’t buy the dip just because the earnings look great. I’d wait for the price to find a floor and trading volume to come back.

When you see “earnings blow past expectations, but the stock falls,” how do you usually decide whether to buy?
