🚨 Have you heard the news?
Tomorrow, Americans vote… but the real question isn’t who will win, but: who will pay for the surprise?
The midterm elections on November 3 could redraw the rules for crypto in America, especially the CLARITY Act, which stalled in the Senate.
The market isn’t afraid of the result itself; it’s afraid of the gap between expectations and the surprise.
If Republicans retain their majority, expectations of more crypto-friendly legislation could return and drive $ETH and $SOL and #defi .
But a sweeping Democratic victory could mean stricter oversight and delays to market legislation, with a stronger impact on small altcoins than $BTC .
Strangely, BTC seems less sensitive to politics, since it is more affected by global liquidity, the dollar, and bond yields.
But history offers no guarantees: after the 2018 and 2022 elections, BTC recorded significant lows within weeks; that doesn’t mean it will automatically happen again.
The difference this time is that the market entered the election exhausted: the Binance breach, and $643 million flowing out of BTC funds in a single day.
So don’t ask: “Will Bitcoin rise after the election?”
Ask: “Will the result be enough of a surprise to change liquidity… or is it just passing political noise?”
💬 If you had an open position right now, would you close it before the results… or ride out the volatility?
