📊 From banking app to point of sale in three seconds

The interbank network Suiche 7B has launched a second phase of its contactless technology, now allowing merchants to collect a Pago Móvil payment directly at their point of sale. Customers no longer have to provide their ID number, phone number, bank, or transaction code: they open their bank’s app, tap the payment button, and hold their phone near the terminal, which confirms the transaction within seconds. The payment is processed using the system banks call C2P—that is, from the merchant to the customer.

The launch covers customers of Bancaribe, Banco Digital de los Trabajadores (BDT), and Banco Nacional de Crédito (BNC), while merchants can use the service through point-of-sale terminals from Inversiones Master and VAT-C. The offer has two parts: no fee for the payer and instant deposits for the seller, without the settlement delays that often complicate closing out the register.

📈 How the payment process works, step by step

The cashier selects the NFC option on the point-of-sale terminal and enters the amount. From there, the buyer only needs to make three gestures: open their banking app using their fingerprint or facial recognition, tap the payment function, and bring their phone close to the terminal. The data is transmitted in encrypted form along with a dynamic key that authorizes that specific transaction, and the terminal shows whether it was approved or declined without consulting third parties.

There are some technical requirements worth keeping in mind: users must be enrolled in their bank’s Mobile Payment service, have the app updated, use an Android phone with NFC enabled, and authorize a transaction each time they tap. In other words, one gesture cannot trigger a series of charges, which reduces the risk of repeated, unauthorized debits.

🔎 What merchants stand to gain (and what it still doesn’t solve)

For a grocery store, pharmacy, or fast-food stand during peak hours, the time savings are real: there’s no need to review screenshots, manually verify reference numbers, or correct amount-entry errors. That bottleneck—which in Venezuela is often handled with a notebook and mutual distrust—is exactly where sales are lost.

However, the new system streamlines how people pay, not the value of what they pay for. Merchants still collect digital bolivars, which, in a context of depreciation, means constantly adjusting prices. That’s where transaction speed runs up against monetary reality.

💰 The impact PitbullChain sees on the P2P and USDT markets

A smoother Mobile Payment service has two opposing effects on Venezuela’s crypto ecosystem. On one hand, it reduces friction around the bolívar and gives traditional banks a competitive tool against wallets and exchanges: if paying at the checkout is as simple as bringing your phone close to the terminal, there’s less incentive to improvise stablecoin payments at the counter.

On the other hand, it speeds up the entire P2P process. A trader selling USDT on Binance P2P or in a Telegram group depends on the buyer being able to send bolivars quickly and without errors. With NFC payments and instant deposits, the window of exposure to risk—the time between “I’m sending the payment” and “I see it reflected”—gets shorter, reducing fraud involving fake receipts, one of the most widely reported scams in the local market.

🛡️ More instant liquidity, same dollarized mindset

Recent years have shown that Venezuelans don’t choose between bolivars and dollars: they use both as needed. A merchant can accept Mobile Payments via NFC and, hours later, convert that balance to USDT to preserve its value or pay a supplier abroad. In practice, improvements to the last mile of bolívar payments feed into that conversion flow.

That’s why the launch is more significant for digital banking than it might seem at first glance. Suiche 7B had already introduced NFC transfers between phones in September 2025; bringing it to the checkout completes a journey that no other interbank network in the country had managed to achieve. And it does so with locally developed technology, a detail highlighted by the corporation’s CEO, Madelein Suárez, when she introduced the service.
