$XRP The price hasn’t moved much, but there’s something worth noting at the ledger level. According to a November 2 report by CoinDesk, the XRP Ledger plans to activate a fix on Wednesday (November 4) for a vulnerability: under certain conditions, an account authorized only to “burn” a particular issuer’s tokens could instead “mint” more.
A few details:
• The fix has the support of 33 of the 35 tracked validators; the threshold is 29
• Support briefly fell to 26 on October 21, then recovered two hours later, but the two-week countdown was reset, delaying activation
• The earliest activation window is around November 4 at 14:46 UTC, or approximately 22:46 that evening in Beijing time
• XRP’s own supply is unaffected; this only involves tokens and stablecoins issued on the ledger
My take: fixes like this won’t directly affect the token price, but they’re a meaningful security upgrade for projects issuing stablecoins and developing RWA on XRPL. XRP is currently around $1.25. For informational purposes only; this is not investment advice.
