BlockBeats reports that on November 2, White House officials said U.S. President Trump would deliver a speech that day at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, his final formal campaign address before the midterm elections, intended to help Republicans retain control of Congress. The election is scheduled for the following day.

The Reflecting Pool is one of the renovation projects Trump has pushed forward this year: it reopened on June 9, closed due to damage after the July 4 celebrations, and reopened again on October 29. Trump told reporters on Sunday that the pool had suffered severe damage and that many cameras had now been installed; the pool “had been leaking badly since 1922 and is now working well.” The pool was built in the 1920s and is about 2,030 feet long. As part of the renovation, its bottom was coated with an industrial-grade pool coating that Trump called “American flag blue.” Organizations including the Cultural Landscape Foundation criticized the lack of transparency in the process and sued the Department of the Interior over the paint job.

In the final stretch, Trump held rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday and scheduled nearly 20 phone-bank events; since October 1, he has held roughly two dozen rallies in about 19 states. National polls and several analysts still predict that Republicans will suffer major losses in the 2026 midterm elections, while early voting in several states has already surpassed 2022 levels.
