📉 Bitcoin Analysis: $78,260 is the deciding level — a close above puts $80K on the table

$BTC This is an analysis of key levels — not a buy or sell recommendation. Prices are from Kraken on the morning of November 2, and the analysis is based on them.

(1) Price structure:
• Daily trend: Recovery after a drop from above $81K to a low of $76,155 on October 30
• 4-hour trend: Slightly bullish from the low, with consecutive hourly closes above $78,260 on Monday morning
• Last price around $78,392, with a 24-hour range between $77,511 and $78,740
• Sunday closed at $78,239, up from Saturday’s close of $77,437 — a second consecutive positive close after a red week

(2) Levels:
• Support: $78,239 (Sunday’s close), then $77,494
• Resistance: $78,740 (overnight high), then $80,000
• The level that decides the day: $78,260 — a daily close above it confirms a breakout toward $78,740, then $80,000; rejection there would send the market back into the $77,494–$78,260 range
• Invalidation level: A daily close below $77,494 invalidates the breakout thesis entirely

(3) Derivatives:
• 24-hour liquidations totaled around $137 million (Coinglass) — including $24 million in Bitcoin shorts versus just $6.5 million in longs: the rally put more pressure on sellers than buyers
• Funding rates and changes in open interest could not be verified from a direct source at the time of writing — so we’re not putting a number on them

(4) Flows:
• Spot Bitcoin funds saw $203 million in outflows last week, while Ethereum funds saw $432 million (CryptoBriefing) — Ethereum outflows in October topped $1.6 billion, in a streak that lasted 23 consecutive days
• Bitcoin dominance is around 60% — the current rally is led by Bitcoin, not a rotation into altcoins
• Bottom line on flows: Institutions pulled back, while retail traders and short liquidations drove the price — making this a weaker rally than one backed by institutional inflows

(5) Scenario tree:
• Breakout scenario: Daily close above $78,260 → target the $78,740 area, then $80,000 — invalidated by a daily close below $77,494
• Rejection scenario: Daily close below $77,494 → target the $76,155 area, then $75,000 — invalidated by a close above $78,740

What does all this mean?
The market has moved from “Did the bottom hold?” to “Is the breakout real?” — and the answer won’t come from the morning candle, but from a daily close above $78,260 and tonight’s data.

Quick question: Do you think today’s close will be above or below $78,260? Write “above” or “below.”
