👻 After gold’s consecutive sharp drops, the market may be brewing an unexpected shift!
After the sustained selling last week, especially the rapid decline on Friday, bearish sentiment in the gold market has clearly intensified. More and more traders are betting that prices will continue to fall, and fear is gradually influencing market sentiment.
At present, gold#XAU has fallen below two important historical price levels:
3943: An important low formed in June 2026.
3984: A key area where the previous major rally began around October 28, 2025.
More notably, gold has posted its first monthly close below 4000 since October 2025.
This means that both the market structure and traders’ psychology have changed significantly.
Buyers who had been expecting a rebound are starting to lose confidence, while traders who missed the first leg down may now be chasing prices lower to short.
But I believe what really deserves attention is the reaction that may come next.
🧠 Market psychology: The more people turn bearish, the more alert we should be to a bear trap!
When gold repeatedly breaks through key support levels, the market can quickly develop a broadly bearish outlook.
Many traders start chasing the move lower, and their stop-loss orders are often clustered just above the support levels that were previously broken.
This could create a potential area of buy-side liquidity.
Imagine that instead of continuing lower, gold suddenly reclaims a key level it had previously broken. What might happen?
Traders who chased the move lower could be forced to close their positions, triggering a cascade of short stops and driving a rapid rebound in price.
Over the past while, gold has also reversed sharply after breaking below important lows.
So I’m in no rush to conclude that gold is bound to keep plunging.
What I’m really watching is whether bears can keep price below these levels after support breaks. That’s key to judging what comes next.
🧧 Gold next week: I’m more focused on potential rebound opportunities!
Although the overall structure remains bearish for now, if bulls produce a convincing reversal signal, I wouldn’t rule out a strong short-term rebound in gold.
Here are a few key price areas to watch:
Above 3932: If price can reclaim this level, it could indicate that short-term buying pressure is starting to build.
4000: An important psychological level and a key area for gauging shifts in the balance between bulls and bears.
Around 4070: If rebound momentum continues to strengthen, this could be the next upside target to watch.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ve decided gold has completed a trend reversal.
From a broader market-structure perspective, bears still have the advantage. Until price reclaims key resistance and establishes acceptance above it, we’ll remain cautious.
I’m watching for a potential liquidity-driven rebound, not blindly buying the dip.
🔥 What will I be watching from Monday to Wednesday?
Monday: After Friday’s sharp decline, gold may need time to absorb the selling pressure. In the short term, it could continue to trade sideways or remain under pressure.
Tuesday to Wednesday: I’ll be watching closely to see whether the market provides a clearer sense of direction.
If gold first sweeps the previous lows, then quickly reclaims them and shows clear bullish momentum, a short-term reversal would be worth watching for.
On the other hand, if price continues to trade below important support and rebounds remain weak, the view that the downtrend will continue remains valid.
My trading principles are simple:
I don’t blindly buy the dip, chase prices lower to short, or rush into trades without confirmation.
⚠️ Final reminder: What you may really need to watch out for isn’t the drop itself, but how the market reacts afterward!
Right now, most people are focused on how much further gold could fall.
But I believe the more consensus there is in market sentiment, the more alert we should be to unexpected moves.
This is especially true of traders who only enter short positions late in a decline. If the market suddenly reverses, they could help fuel the next rally.
I won’t try to predict the exact bottom.
I’ll simply watch to see whether sellers start losing control after key liquidity has been swept, and whether buyers can reclaim important price areas.
Remember: A break below support only tells us that price has fallen. Whether it can hold below that level is what determines if bears have truly taken control of the market.
One final question for everyone:
Will gold continue lower in search of new lows, or is it nearing a bear trap 🤔?#黄金 #投资 #黄金价格 #科学发现 #矿业 #经济 #贵金属
