The Federal Tax Service has learned to detect schemes used by some self-employed Russians to evade taxes. According to Vedomosti, the agency has created a special system capable of identifying people who cancel receipts in the “My Tax” app in an attempt to avoid tax payments. Since the beginning of this year, around 3,000 people have already been caught committing such violations thanks to the system. The fine for a first violation is 20% of the transaction amount; if the violation is repeated within six months, the penalty rises to 100% of the transaction amount.
