🇨🇳 CHINA DECLARES WAR ON CRYPTO BRIBES

China is stepping up its crackdown on officials who receive illegal payments in cryptocurrency and move money abroad via blockchain.

A prominent case is that of Yao Qian, former head of the People’s Bank of China’s digital currency research institute.

According to the investigation, he received 2,000 ETH. At their peak, they were worth more than $8.5 million.

Investigators tracked the cryptocurrency and uncovered how some of the funds were exchanged for yuan to buy real estate.

📊 What does this mean for the market?

🔹 Cryptocurrency transfers will face greater scrutiny. 🔹 Blockchain analytics will be in even higher demand. 🔹 It will become harder to conceal the origins of illicit proceeds using cryptocurrency.

💡 My takeaway:

Blockchain offers financial freedom, but public transactions leave a digital trail. China’s case shows that cryptocurrency does not guarantee anonymity, and tracking technologies are becoming ever more sophisticated.
