Have you noticed how stocks have suddenly started to feel a bit like crypto?

I came across some figures while scrolling tonight: the tokenized stock sector as a whole is now worth around $4.64 billion. Just on $ETH , it’s about $827 million on-chain—roughly 1.7 times what it was a year ago. The names behind the products are familiar too: bStocks, Ondo, xStocks, and others. Most use a 1:1 collateral model, mapping U.S. stocks and ETFs to on-chain shares.

Some people are comparing its size directly to stablecoins before they took off. Back then, everyone thought, “It’s only a few hundred million—what’s the big deal?” We all know how that turned out.

I’m not saying it can immediately follow the same path as stablecoins. But being able to trade on weekends, split shares into fractions, and plug them into DeFi—all together, that’s definitely more exciting than “waiting for the market to open on Monday.” Right now, $ETH is hovering around 2,263, and $BTC is at about 77,900. The market isn’t exactly buzzing, but this on-chain asset class has been quietly growing.

Would you actually buy tokenized stocks? Or do you think this is just moving your brokerage account somewhere else, with no real reason to get involved? Let’s hear both sides in the comments—I’d like to know where you stand.
