November 1 review: $BTC held 77,000, peaked at 78,285; 12 Binance chains restored, 3 awaiting confirmation
The morning call to “hold 77,000” played out throughout the day: $BTC is currently at 77,900, up 0.43% in 24 hours, with a 24-hour low of 77,392. The midday remark that it “hadn’t reached 78,000 yet” was revised in the afternoon: price touched the 78,000 area, with a 24-hour high of 78,285, but didn’t hold above 78,500, let alone reach 80,000. $ETH is currently at 2,262, up 0.45% in 24 hours—similarly range-bound.
Today wasn’t a breakout or a weakening trend. It was “holding the lower end, testing the upper end, but not breaking through.” Derivatives were much the same: perpetual funding rates were around 0.01% for $BTC and -0.001% for $ETH , essentially flat; open interest was about $BTC 2.68 billion and $ETH $1.5 billion, with no one-sided short-squeeze setup.
The big event that came through today was still Binance withdrawals. As of the 19:33 roundup, 12 of the initial 15 chains had individually confirmed their recovery: BTC, ETH, BSC, XRP, Base, DOGE, OP, Tron, ARB, SOL, Polygon, and AVAX. Note: ZEC, TON, and Sui were only on the initial list; there is still no separate, chain-by-chain confirmation that withdrawals have resumed for them this time. Don’t treat “on the list” as “withdrawals are working.” No timeline has been announced for phase two, and the claim that reserves are back to about 95% is still Binance’s own report. The full zero-knowledge proof is due out November 3.
For altcoins tonight, keep an eye on two hourly candles that haven’t closed yet. INIT touched 0.2052 intraday at 20:00 and is now around 0.2006. It dipped below 0.1987, but the hourly candle hasn’t closed, so don’t rush to a conclusion; only consider it if the close holds above that level. BEAMX was around 0.0050 intraday at 20:00. Its drop back below 0.0053 weakens the continuation case, and it’s less than 1% from the invalidation level of 0.004962—the close most worth waiting for. XPL remains below 0.075 at around 0.0737, while LSK continues to drift lower at around 0.2142. The leaderboard’s top gainer, Niulai, is up about 28%, but there’s no catalyst today, so stick to the rules and don’t chase.
The overnight risk isn’t tonight’s small move; it’s next week’s calendar: Apple earnings on Monday, the midterm elections on Tuesday, and nonfarm payrolls on Friday. These are likely to break the range. Invalidation levels are unchanged: a 4-hour close below 77,000 would signal weakness, with 76,000 next; only a move above 78,500 puts 80,000 back in play.
Personal review, not investment advice. Prices can prove me wrong at any time; size your positions as you see fit. Which do you think happens first: a break below 77,000 or a move above 78,500?
