On November 1, Binance had covered about 95% of the affected assets with its own funds and pledged that the platform would bear all the losses.

The industry showed rare unity this time. Exchanges, stablecoin issuers, and on-chain security firms worked together to track and freeze the funds involved.

Protecting Binance also means protecting confidence in the entire industry. Remarkably, despite such a massive security incident, $BTC fell, but there was no prolonged, uncontrolled crash.

BTC is still struggling around $77,000–$78,000.

Historically, November has been one of BTC’s strongest months, with an average gain of over 30%. But that figure was significantly boosted by the surge in 2013.

The U.S. midterm elections are also coming up on November 3.
