AI tokens are showing a contrast: since May, spending related to AI tokens has risen by 122% to 160%, while prices for these tokens have fallen by around 67% over the same period.

The broader market backdrop that day: Bitcoin was around $77,665, down about 3.9% over 7 days; Ethereum was around $2,266, Solana around $95, and the Fear & Greed Index was 35, in the fear zone.

What matters more to me is this divergence: falling prices suggest expectations are retreating, while rising spending suggests people are actually using them. But with such a wide range, I wouldn’t draw conclusions from either 122% or 160% as a single figure.

If you could choose just one leading indicator, would you pick spending growth or a price rebound?
