BTC at 77,858 is holding above 77,000, but its 24-hour high of 77,897 still hasn’t touched 78,000. This afternoon, the real test is the 14:00 Binance withdrawal window

This morning’s call to “hold 77,000” was half-fulfilled by noon: $BTC the 24-hour low for the day was 77,144, and the 12:00 hourly low only dipped to 77,721, with no breakdown. But the other half hasn’t happened: the 24-hour high was 77,897, and price hasn’t even touched the first resistance band from 78,000 to 78,500. Spot BTC at midday is 77,858, up 0.93% over 24 hours—in other words, just grinding sideways. $ETH is a little stronger at 2,268, up 1.34% over 24 hours, with a range of 2,237 to 2,276, but it hasn’t picked a direction either. Funding rates confirm this choppy action: BTC perpetuals are around 0.01%, while ETH is near zero. There’s no short squeeze and no one-sided crowding; the market is simply waiting for news.

The most noteworthy altcoin move this morning wasn’t a gain, but a drop: during the 12:00 hour, XPL flash-crashed in just 15 minutes from around 0.08335 to 0.06903, a decline of about 17%. It has now bounced back to around 0.0729, but this hourly candle won’t close until 13:00. Whether it closes below 0.075 or recovers above it makes all the difference; before the close, chasing it is just a gamble. LSK, INIT, and BEAMX also made intrahour recoveries or wicks through key levels, but those moves haven’t closed yet either, so I’m not calling them breakouts in this midday update. ZAMA and Niu Lai remain familiar names on the 24-hour leaderboard, continuing their gradual grind. I haven’t seen any new catalyst with double confirmation today, so I’m not chasing them individually.

Here’s where my view differs from this morning’s: the morning question was “Can the range hold?” By midday, I’m leaning toward “The range will keep grinding until before the European session; the real dividing line isn’t price, but the 14:00 to 17:00 withdrawal window.” The first batch of accounts eligible to resume withdrawals and the withdrawal window were announced at noon; this isn’t new news. The test this afternoon is whether the window opens on time and runs smoothly. If it does, 78,000 to 78,500 becomes worth testing; if it gets stuck, 77,000 will be tested again.

Let’s be clear about invalidation: if a 4-hour candle closes below 77,000, the morning view that price would “hold” is invalidated, and 76,000 comes into focus. Only a 4-hour close above 78,500 would make the next move toward 80,000 worth discussing. Until either level is reached, chasing gains or losses in a sideways market can easily leave you caught on both sides.

This isn’t investment advice, and prices can change at any time. This is my read of the market at midday. Which side are you on this afternoon: will the 14:00 window open smoothly and BTC test 78,500 first, or will the window get stuck and price fall back to 77,000 first?
