U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs just set an awkward record: 23 consecutive trading days of net outflows, with more than $1 billion flowing out in October alone.

The outflows continued through October 30, marking the longest streak since the products launched in July 2024. October saw the largest monthly outflows of 2026. In September, these funds had net inflows of $832 million—the direction completely reversed in just one month. Outflows totaled $155.8 million on October 30 alone, with BlackRock’s ETHA accounting for $76.6 million, nearly half of the day’s total. Still, cumulative net inflows remain around $12.29 billion, and total net assets are about $13.22 billion. Throughout the outflow period, Ethereum held in the $2,200 to $2,500 range.

I think this looks more like institutions trimming positions after heavy buying in August and September. The price didn’t break out of that range despite the $1 billion in outflows—but with not a single day of net inflows in 23 days, buying clearly hasn’t returned yet.

Are you betting that the next wave starts when daily net inflows turn positive, or are you watching to see if the outflow streak sets a new record?

Follow me, and when the next trading day’s fund flows come in, I’ll be the first to calculate exactly how many days this outflow streak lasted.
