AWS revenue rose 39% this quarter, its fastest growth in five years. The cloud business is really delivering. But over the past 12 months, free cash flow plunged to negative $42.4 billion, after being positive $14.8 billion a year ago. Put simply, the same company is making money and burning money at the same time. Even a good business can burn cash—the key is whether it has enough runway.
