A HACK DOESN’T MEAN EVERYTHING IS FALLING APART: DON’T FUEL FUD
A security incident at Binance doesn’t mean everything is falling apart.
What’s noteworthy is how the story was blown out of proportion after the incident. One piece of information that hadn’t been fully verified was all it took for the crowd to quickly jump on the bandwagon, amplify fear, and turn it into an opportunity to attack Binance.
I’m not denying that any hack needs to be investigated. Binance also has a responsibility to be transparent, explain the cause, and take corrective measures.
But it’s important to distinguish between holding a platform accountable and exploiting an incident to exaggerate the problem and create panic in an attempt to undermine an exchange’s reputation.
In the crypto market, FUD sometimes spreads faster than the truth. Don’t rush to believe what the crowd is saying. Look at the data, the actual extent of the damage, how Binance handled the incident, and the evidence that has been made public.
Criticism is necessary when it’s justified, but blindly following the crowd without verifying the facts is no different from fueling FUD.
