Coinglass: Crypto market liquidations totaled $1.60 billion over 24 hours. Longs accounted for $1.36 billion ($534.01 million in BTC and $364.16 million in ETH), while shorts accounted for just $248.65 million.

If this seems like a lot, let’s remember together that on August 20, liquidations totaled $2.99 billion over 24 hours, of which shorts accounted for $2.74 billion ($1.42 billion in Bitcoin and $1.11 billion in Ethereum). So closing our short at breakeven—which was in the market at the time and feeling uncomfortable—was clearly a positive outcome and a valuable experience. The scale of liquidations this time, it has to be said, is very modest, given the news trigger.
Back to the latest figures from #Coinglass.
The potential liquidation map shows that a sharp drop to $69,296 would trigger $1.63 billion in long liquidations. Meanwhile, a sharp rise to $86,740 would trigger $5.47 billion in liquidations. The difference isn’t all that big, by the way. In the nearer range below, there’s more interesting and greater liquidity, suggesting a squeeze to somewhere around $75,526.

BTC liquidity heatmap on Binance, brightest levels:
- over 24 hours: $76,945, $76,195, $76,045.
- over the week, there are no standout zones, but some interesting ones are: $82,035–$82,402 above and $76,074–$76,150 below.
- over the month, all the most interesting zones are above: $84,921–$85,707 and $87,084–$88,362. Below, there are only a few small zones down to $76,074.

There’s plenty of liquidity above, but for now the trend is moving against a rally there.
