Binance was hacked today, and on-chain detective @zachxbt had just one thing to say: It was probably North Korea’s Lazarus Group.

By the end of last year, the group had stolen a cumulative $6.75 billion—and the amount goes up every year: $1 billion in 2023, $1.3 billion in 2024, and $2 billion in 2025. The methods have barely changed: Bybit’s signing interface was tampered with, Bitget’s transaction data was forged, and this time, Binance had 50 authorization signatures on-chain.

No cracking. Just tricking people into signing.

If it really was them, the $2.5 billion to $5.8 billion haul would be their biggest yet. So far, $2.5 billion has been frozen.

Let’s take a look at how the General’s most profitable department has operated over the past decade.
