The whole market is falling today, but what’s really worth noting isn’t how much it fell—it’s how a newly formed EMA20 structure was completely wiped out in a single candle.

【Current status】

At the 10-29 close, BNBUSDT closed at 698.46, with EMA20 at 739.22. It was the first candle to fall back below the moving average, 5.51% below it.

【Where the signal came from】

Before the breakout, it had 4 consecutive daily candles close below EMA20. On 10-26, it crossed above for the first time. That candle opened at 738.68, reached a high of 747.47, hit a low of 732.45, and closed at 742.88. This was the signal candle.

I’ve stuck to the same three-step criteria: first, enough candles must close below EMA20; then the first cross above forms the signal candle; finally, confirmation comes when the next day’s close rises above the signal candle’s high.

【Two levels】

The confirmation level is 747.47, the high of the signal candle. The 10-27 close was 744.94, $2.53 short, or 0.34%. The intraday high reached 754.29, well past it, but the price pulled back by the close—an intraday break doesn’t count. So by the rules, the entry window closed that day.

The invalidation level is 732.45, the low of the signal candle. The 10-28 close was 759.85, crossing the confirmation level a day too late. Then came 10-29: open 759.85, high 761.00, low 680.00, close 698.46. One daily candle broke through both the confirmation and invalidation levels, and 680.00 was a 20-day low.

【The day’s narrative】

The most frequently reported news over the past 24 hours was Binance’s security incident (estimated by media at around $6 billion, and described as the largest ever). The knock-on effects included a wave of liquidations among leveraged longs, institutional funds pulling out of exchanges, and the Fear & Greed Index dropping to 30 (Fear). BNB was the most direct recipient of this wave of sentiment: down 5.81% over 24 hours, with $496 million in trading volume, ranking third overall.

【Three ways this could be wrong】

First, being “a day late” isn’t a matter of luck; it’s a matter of price level. The 10-28 close at 759.85 did cross 747.47, so if you only look at the outcome, this setup played out. But the rule says “the next day,” and on 10-27 the price fell short by 2.53. If you chased at the 10-28 close, your entry would be above 747, while the 10-29 low was 680—about 9% below the confirmation level. The “next day” constraint isn’t mere formalism; it’s the source of the price advantage. It ensures you enter where the structure has just formed, not after the price has already run up.

Second, this candle was driven by news, not by positioning. Moving averages can’t provide support on event-driven days; they can only serve as reference points. Traders who focus on structure have to acknowledge one thing: some declines have nothing to do with structure. Its value isn’t in predicting them, but in telling you where to admit defeat before they happen.

Third, looking at it the other way, the bears haven’t won outright either. On 10-30, the intraday low was 682.16, which did not break below 680.00, and the price recovered to around 708 (intraday, not a closing price). Invalidation doesn’t mean a collapse; it just means this setup is void and the count starts over.

【What I’ll do】

The old structure is void, and I’m not trying to call a bottom in the 680–700 range. The new three-step count starts from scratch: this is only the first candle below EMA20, and at least two more candles need to close below it before we can talk about a “first cross above.” Until then, 732.45 (the old invalidation level, now above price and acting as the first resistance) and 680.00 are reference lines only, not the basis for buying or selling. I’m not giving a price target or making decisions for anyone.

Will 680.00 be tested again first, or will price reclaim 732.45 first?
