A few of the latest updates, all in one place—quite an interesting mix.

Things are heating up on the macro front. CME’s FedWatch shows the probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike in December has reached 79.6%, while the odds of no change have fallen to just 20.4%. The next FOMC meeting is on December 9, about 41 days away. The market has almost taken a rate hike as the default scenario, but such one-sided expectations are often the most fragile. When the meeting comes, it will still depend on the data.

On the market front, $HYPE has surged past $97, rising more than 20% in seven hours and coming within just $1 of a new all-time high. Behind the move is a plan by ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, to partner with Trade.xyz and bring perpetual futures products to the regulated U.S. market. The news and the price action have reinforced each other, igniting sentiment—but with prices rising this fast, anyone jumping in should think carefully about which leg of the rally they’re buying.

The gap between traditional finance and crypto keeps narrowing. Nasdaq-listed Canton Strategic Holdings ($CNTN) announced an agreement with TSV, a permissioned tokenized securities trading platform on the Canton network, to make its common stock available for trading in an issuer-sponsored tokenized format. The goal is to launch as early as November 2, and the company says it could become the first compliant offering under the SEC’s innovation exemption framework. It’s a significant step, and its outcome will make for an interesting case study.

Meanwhile, Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock, $STRC , has risen to $99.95 for the first time in 165 days. It is designed to stay anchored near $100 through a floating dividend. As it approaches par, the company can raise funds through ATM offerings to buy BTC—hence the market’s nickname for it, the “Bitcoin money printer.” It’s a clever mechanism, but it comes with assumptions and risks.

There’s news in AI, too. Canadian AI company Cohere has reached a valuation of $20.5 billion, roughly triple its value a year ago. The first closing of its latest funding round is complete, and the total could reach as much as $5 billion, with investment commitments from the Canadian government and Nvidia. Meanwhile, Alphabet’s quarterly filings disclosed that its AI-related risk exposure has topped $1 trillion, with joint ventures accounting for more than a third of the growth in cloud backlog. On one side, money is pouring in; on the other, a tech giant is putting its risks on the table.

One security update to add. In response to the AXIS sell-off, Axis Robotics said that a combined 835 million tokens—83.5% of the total supply—held by the core team, investors, and locked allocations remain in vesting contracts jointly managed with Binance and can be verified on-chain. The company suspects an over-the-counter counterparty default led to the selling. Verifiable data is a good thing, but the market volatility has already had real financial consequences.

The hotter the market gets, the easier it is to overlook the details. Lately, are you paying more attention to what happens before rate hikes take effect, or to new stories around tokenization and AI funding?
