Well now, welcome, welcome! In the old days, folks would line up outside the theater to buy tickets in advance. These days, it seems you can even buy a ticket to “the price of the future” on your smartphone.

On October 20, 2026, the longtime crypto company Blockchain.com launched options trading in its own app. TRX was among the seven assets available, alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. TRON DAO welcomed the move with a statement the following day, and the news was also covered by U.S. media outlet The Block on the 28th—a happy tale indeed.

Now then, Kiroku and Jinbei.

“Jinbei, what’s an option?”

“Simply put, it’s a ticket you buy in advance for the future. If you think the price will rise, you choose a call; if you think it’ll fall, you choose a put. If you’re right, your payout grows; if you’re wrong, the cost of the ticket is gone. That’s all there is to it. You only have to decide three things: which way, by when, and how much to put in. The screen just says ‘Above’ or ‘Below’—up or down, nothing else.”

“If it’s just up or down, even I think I could manage that.”

“You pay upfront in USDC, the longest term is one week, and you can start with five dollars. It’s not margin trading, so there are no margin calls. Your loss is limited to what you paid, plus fees. But you can’t exit early. Even if you’re making money, you have to hold on until expiration.”

“And the marketplace is huge. Blockchain.com launched in 2011 as the world’s first Bitcoin block explorer, and now has over 44 million verified accounts across more than 70 jurisdictions. The place that started listing spot TRX in 2022 has, four years later, put ‘the future’ of TRX on its shelves too. Just look at what’s happened with TRON this year: TRX options launched in January on Deribit, owned by Coinbase; TRX futures launched in July on Bitnomial, regulated by the U.S. CFTC; and in September, the first U.S. staking-based TRX ETF, ‘TRXS,’ was listed on Cboe. There’s also custody and staking through Anchorage Digital, a tokenized fund from Hamilton Lane via Securitize, and inclusion in the S&P Pantera index. They’re digging entryways from both directions: institutional investors from above, and ordinary folks from below.”

“Why futures and options, though?”

“Big money won’t go into an asset unless there’s a way to limit losses. Futures and options are the passport to the world of grown-up financial products. And TRON has already laid the payment rails: more than 411 million total accounts, over 15 billion cumulative transactions, over $30 trillion in cumulative transfer volume, and more than $94 billion in USDT. When these three things come together—real demand for payments, a deep product lineup, and a marketplace with 44 million accounts—TRX can become an asset you can add to a portfolio. Next up: the United States. Blockchain.com applied to register with the CFTC on October 13. Whether the door opens to Americans is the next big test.”

“I see! Well then, Jinbei, I’ll choose ‘Above’ without a moment’s hesitation.”

“That’s quite a bit of confidence. Why’s that?”

“Well, we’re from up in the capital region, aren’t we? We couldn’t possibly bet on things going down!”

An option is a trade that puts a price tag on the future. TRON is now adding, one by one, the places around the world that will put a price tag on its future. We’ll leave it to you to judge whether things will go up or down. And with that, it’s time to call it a day. Join us next time for another TRON rakugo tale.
