JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola, Dell—they’re all refusing to let their stocks trade on OKX’s on-chain exchange.

OKX and ICE, the parent company of the NYSE, have teamed up to create a platform that would tokenize the stocks of 62 U.S. companies for 24-hour trading.
Under SEC rules, if a company objects in writing within 30 days, its stock can’t be listed.

An announcement on October 27 showed that 33 companies had objected—30 from the original list, nearly half. On October 15, there were only 9.

My take: The tokens aren’t issued by the companies themselves, but if something goes wrong, their brands could take the blame. Big companies would rather say no for now. JPMorgan says it’s interested in tokenization, but isn’t participating at this stage.

If you want to trade U.S. stocks 24/7, you may be left with only the half that haven’t blocked it.

Do you think big companies are waiting to see what happens, or simply don’t want crypto getting involved with their stocks?
