On Wednesday, the Fed voted 10–2 to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.75% to 4.00%. Fed Governor Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack supported a 25-basis-point rate hike. Polymarket traders now see an 82% probability of a 25-basis-point hike in December, up from about 77% before the announcement. The Fed said inflation remains elevated despite weak employment data in September. Inflation and economic growth data due out Thursday could strengthen market expectations of a December rate hike or ease pressure on the Fed.
