Bitcoin: Biweekly Relative Strength Index

The two-week RSI uses Wilder smoothing over 14 biweekly closing periods, filtering out daily and weekly noise and making it better suited to assessing macro-level buying and selling momentum. The upper and lower bands are derived by fitting historical RSI extremes and gradually slope downward over time.

Current Status · Neutral Momentum
The latest two-week RSI is 51.05 (2026-10-28), down 1.23 from 52.28 in the previous period. The dynamic lower and upper bands are 32.93 and 84.07, respectively, leaving 18.12 points to the lower band. The 6-week and 12-week averages are 53.22 and 52.22, respectively. Momentum is in the neutral 40–70 range, awaiting a directional breakout.

Historical reference: The two-week RSI lows in 2015, 2019, 2022–23, and the current cycle all came close to the dynamic lower band. The low in the current cycle was 32.85 on 2026-06-28, when BTC was around $59,517. Touching the band suggests an improved risk-reward ratio, but the bottom often still takes weeks to months of choppy consolidation to form. A more cautious approach is to watch for the RSI to stop making new lows and move back above the lower band, then confirm the signal alongside spot demand, long-term holder cost basis, and global liquidity. A single touch of the band is not a definitive bottom-buying signal; this is for cycle research only and does not constitute investment advice.
