Traditional finance may be entering blockchain faster than many people think.
On October 28, Singapore’s DBS Bank announced the findings of a survey showing that 88% of the businesses surveyed had already deployed or were testing tokenized money solutions.
That figure is certainly surprising.
In the past, businesses often used blockchain only at the proof-of-concept stage.
Now, more and more companies are exploring tools such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits to improve the efficiency of cross-border payments and cash management.
This is especially true for multinational companies, whose funds are spread across different countries and bank accounts. Settlement times and liquidity management have long been real costs for them.
However, 88% is the share of respondents in the survey sample; it does not mean that 88% of businesses worldwide have adopted blockchain.
