Today’s crypto security bulletin looks pretty polished: four companies—Coinbase, Bithumb, Daishin Securities, and Mirae Asset—were hit on the same day, and their messaging was strikingly consistent: Coinbase and Bithumb both said funds were unaffected. But what was lost was something even more critical: Coinbase vendor Amplitude leaked users’ contact details. SlowMist says around 70,000 users were affected (Coinbase has not confirmed that figure); an employee accessed Bithumb’s internal system, and the company is still investigating whether member information was involved; and Daishin Securities confirmed that the personal and credit information of 38,490 customers was leaked. The coins are safe, but scammers got their hands on names, phone numbers, and email addresses first. Phishing, SIM-swap hijacking, and social engineering are the real main course. Pick a side in the comments: A. If no money was lost, no big deal / B. Losing personal information is scarier than losing coins—which do you choose?
