Hong Kong: Two tokenized money market funds now operate 24/7

On October 26, 2026, the SFC announced the approval and launch, on the same day, of secondary trading for ChinaAMC HKD Digital Money Market Fund and ChinaAMC USD Digital Money Market Fund.

The pilot framework was published on April 20, 2026. The October development adds this way of buying and selling to two existing funds.

ChinaAMC’s notice dated October 23 identifies PantherTrade as the platform and the F HKD and F USD classes. Buying or selling units to another investor is different from subscribing to or redeeming them from the fund.

The document mentions Ethereum among the technological risks of these classes. Secondary trades are recorded in PantherTrade’s internal ledger, where PantherTrade remains the direct holder of the units; they are not transfers between personal wallets.

Risks: extended trading hours do not guarantee continuous liquidity. The price may diverge from the value of the fund’s assets, especially outside Hong Kong financial market hours. Spreads may also widen or trading may be suspended.

Market snapshot: at 08:04 UTC on October 28, Binance Spot showed ETH at 2.363,75 USDT (+1,93% in 24 h) and BTC at 81.133,99 USDT (+1,50%). These are crypto market reference prices. This expanded access does not demonstrate capital inflows or allow those gains to be attributed to it.
