🤝 Ripple and Robinhood: RLUSD stablecoin gains a major partner

Ripple has struck a deal with Robinhood, one of the largest investment platforms, which has 28.6 million customers worldwide.

What is RLUSD?

It’s Ripple’s “digital dollar.” One token is always worth about one dollar, so its price doesn’t jump around like Bitcoin’s. It launched in December 2024, and its market cap is now over $2.5 billion.

What’s changing?

🔹 RLUSD is already live on Robinhood Chain and the Bitstamp exchange (which Robinhood acquired in 2025).

🔹 The token will be added to the Robinhood app later this year, allowing everyday users to access it.

🔹 Large clients will settle transactions in RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. This is faster and cheaper than transferring money between banks.

🔹 Robinhood is moving its treasury operations to Ripple Treasury. The company will use the service to manage its money around the world.

🔹 Ripple Prime will provide Bitstamp with loans and margin financing backed by around 20 crypto assets. Perpetual futures will also be added to the exchange later.

Why does Ripple need this?

The stablecoin market is currently valued at over $300 billion, and it’s dominated almost entirely by Tether’s USDT and Circle’s USDC. The partnership with Robinhood is a major step toward making RLUSD a significant competitor to the pair.

What does this mean for everyday users?

Soon, you’ll be able to buy and hold RLUSD directly in the Robinhood app. But it’s important to remember: the partnership doesn’t guarantee that XRP’s price will rise or that anything will remain stable. This is infrastructure news, not a reason to invest.
