According to ChainCatcher, Akash Network has announced that the decentralized cloud computing network Akash has initiated Governance Proposal No. 346, which proposes migrating the network from its Cosmos sovereign chain, akashnet-2, to the Solana mainnet. Voting began at 23:02 Beijing time on October 26 and will end at 23:02 on November 2. So far, approximately 98.29% of votes are in favor.

According to the proposal, if it passes and audits of the token and migration portal are completed (expected to take 2 to 3 weeks), AKT will launch on Solana as an SPL token and migrate at a 1:1 ratio, retaining its ticker. The one-way migration portal will remain open for 2 years. AKT that is staked must first be unstaked (a 21-day process) before it can be migrated. The proposal does not set a switchover date; the market migration will require a separate switchover proposal. Akash said Solana was chosen primarily due to factors including operating costs under load, the absence of a single operator, and the concentration of the DePIN ecosystem.
