There’s no slippage setting that’s always right. Start with a baseline, then check the minimum you’ll receive.

【Bottom line】
Start at 0.1% for stablecoin pairs and 0.5% for major tokens. For small-cap tokens or new pools, don’t go above 1%. If you need more than 5% for a trade to go through, stop.

【Analysis】
Slippage is the permitted difference between the execution price and the quoted price. Stablecoin pairs usually have low volatility, so 0.1% is often enough. Major tokens are more volatile, making 0.5% a common starting point. Prices in new pools and for small-cap tokens are less liquid, so 1% already accepts a noticeable difference. Any extra room beyond that may not be due to volatility—it could mean the pool is too shallow.

【What to do】
1. Start with the baseline. Don’t set a high custom value right away.
2. Check the minimum you’ll receive, and sign only if you’re comfortable with it.
3. If the transaction fails, check why. Only after confirming it’s due to slippage, increase it by 0.1 to 0.3 percentage points.
4. If it still fails at 1%, reduce the amount or switch pools instead of jumping straight to 5%.

【How it goes wrong】
Setting slippage to 10% or even higher just to make the button turn green. The transaction may succeed, but the price difference is reflected in the execution result.
