What problems arise if a block only provides the results but hides the transaction data?
First, what it is: DAS is usually used with erasure coding. Data is encoded with redundancy, so the complete data can be recovered as long as enough portions are available.
Why do this? Requiring every node to download all the data raises the barrier to running a node as blocks get larger. Sampling lets each node download only a small amount, allowing data capacity to keep growing.
