Follow me—my candlestick chart series is ongoing, with one pattern explained in depth per episode👇
The first 17 episodes are done. In the finale, I won’t cover a new pattern; I’ll show you how to put them together and use them.
First, check the context: Was there a meaningful trend leading up to it? Does a signal on a smaller timeframe align with the larger timeframe? If the larger timeframe points the other way, treat the smaller-timeframe signal with caution.
Then wait for confirmation: A pattern is just a clue. It only counts as the market’s go-ahead when the next candle closes in the expected direction—ideally on higher volume. An unconfirmed pattern doesn’t count.
Finally, define the invalidation point: If price breaks beyond the pattern’s extreme, the whole setup is invalid. Don’t stubbornly wait for it to come back—the invalidation level is your line of discipline, not hindsight.
Single-candle patterns focus on wicks, two-candle patterns on engulfing, three-candle patterns on stars; gaps are all about location, and island reversals hinge on two gaps—they’re all just different parts of the same process.
Patterns are probabilities, not predictions. The roundup is coming soon, with all 17 episodes’ pattern guides in one place.
