Six years ago, I had just 500,000 left and kept getting crushed day after day. In my worst month, I lost 400,000 and nearly wiped out my savings. Then I ditched all the fancy stuff and focused solely on 10-minute charts, developing the simplest—but steadiest—short-term trading strategy.
Using it, I grew 500,000 to over 25 million, with no major drawdowns for four years.
The rules are simple: miss even one, and I don’t enter. First, if the RSI drops below 30 but the decline hasn’t run its course, I don’t try to pick a bottom and catch a falling knife. Second, the price must break above a key level and hold there for at least three 10-minute candles. False breakouts trap people, so I only trade confirmed moves.
Third, volume must increase at least threefold. Without real money behind the move, even the prettiest setup is fake.
I only enter with a small position when all three conditions are met, and use just 1–2x leverage. Don’t laugh at being cautious—I’ve seen too many people use 20x or 50x leverage and lose everything in a moment. The people who make big money aren’t the ones using the most leverage; they’re the ones who stay in the game.
When I’m up 15%, I lock in 20% of the profit. I raise the stop-loss on the rest, and exit when the RSI reaches 70, no matter what happens next. I’d rather make less than give it all back.
Trying to buy at the absolute bottom and sell at the very top is a fantasy. I only take profits from trades I understand. Survive the choppy market first; only then are you in a position to wait for the big moves.
