There was a recent piece of news about Ethereum$ETH that I think is more important than a short-term price rise.
On October 19, JPMorgan officially announced that it would deploy its dollar deposit token, JPM Coin, on the Ethereum mainnet, making it available to eligible institutional clients.
This isn’t an ordinary stablecoin project. It’s a major global bank putting an institutional funds settlement tool directly on a public blockchain.
JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform has processed more than $4 trillion in transactions to date, with an average daily transaction volume of around $7 billion.
Of course, this doesn’t mean all those funds have already moved onto Ethereum.
But a bank choosing Ethereum as its settlement infrastructure is, in itself, a sign that public blockchains are becoming part of the real-world operations of traditional finance.
For now, ETH ETF flows remain disappointing, and its price is also significantly lagging behind $BTC .
But if more banks move deposits, collateral, and financial assets onto Ethereum in the future, the long-term valuation case for ETH could change.
